This step is not compulsory, but it will intensify the vanilla aroma.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;5. In a bowl, whisk the egg yolks with the sugar to dissolve the sugar a little, without trying to whiten them.<\/p>\n<p>6. Add the cornstarch and flour and mix until smooth.<\/p>\n<p>7. Bring the milk to the boil and pour half of it over the egg-sugar mixture. Mix well, then pour back into the saucepan with the remaining milk.<\/p>\n<p>8. Bring to a boil over medium heat and thicken, stirring constantly.
